Product Description
„Ein Bisschen Frieden" sounds immediately like the original on piano – and this piano-vocal arrangement is designed for players with around four years of lessons. The position shifts in the left hand and the recurring syncopations demand genuine control. As part of the playbackNOTEN series, the piece can also be combined with up to 14 additional instruments.
Sheet Music „Ein Bisschen Frieden" – melancholic Schlager for Piano & Voice
Nicole won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1982 with this song – a moment whose resonance has never quite faded. Ralph Siegel and Bernd Meinunger wrote the piece as a simple, heartfelt plea for peace. The melody carries a quiet longing – no grand gesture, just a gentle wish. That is precisely what makes the song so timeless. Set in G major, it remains harmonically accessible while staying emotionally rich.
G major gives the piece warmth and openness – the vocal line moves in a comfortable middle register that supports the voice without overstretching it. That said, the melody does require larger interval leaps at certain points, which call for reliable pitch accuracy. The piano accompaniment is restrained and supportive, underpinning the vocal line without overshadowing it. The chromatically enriched harmony – notes that venture slightly outside the home key – adds depth to the arrangement. From bar 59, the piece modulates to A♠major, lending the final section a fresh brightness. The pronounced dynamic contrasts throughout require the pianist to manage touch with real intention – sometimes pulling back, sometimes carrying the sound forward.
- Vocal Range: Bâ™3 to C♯5 (1 octave)
- Main Challenge: Position shifts in the left hand, recurring syncopations
- Ideal for: Lessons, concert, recital
- Tempo: 118 – flowing and animated
Practising the left-hand position shifts in isolation first – without the right hand – quickly reveals where the leaps fall and allows you to target them deliberately. The syncopations, where the emphasis intentionally lands off the main beat, will feel most secure if you tap the underlying pulse quietly while both hands play. The short legato phrases in the vocal line – flowing, but clearly shaped – require each phrase to have its own breath. The modulation to A♠major at bar 59 will land convincingly if the key change is already anticipated in the ear before it arrives.
