Product Description
The Passacaglia after G.F. Handel / J. Halvorsen—Piano Arrangement (A minor). This five-page piano arrangement adapts the famous Passacaglia, which originally stems from a theme in George Frideric Handel’s Baroque-era harpsichord suite in G minor (HWV 432). Johan Halvorsen composed his well-known, highly virtuosic arrangement for violin and viola toward the end of the 19th century, thereby transposing the theme into the aesthetic of the late Romantic period. This piano arrangement continues this virtuosic tradition and offers a technically demanding interpretation with several variations for advanced pianists. The left hand features a consistent quarter-note accompaniment that provides a stable rhythmic foundation. To assist the pianist, the score includes precise fingering, well-thought-out pedal instructions at the beginning, appropriate dynamic markings, and helpful chord symbols. Perfectly suited for lessons, recitals, concert performances, or casual home playing. An accompanying audio file is available as an optional performance aid.
