Sonatina for Toy Piano (2010) is dedicated to intrepid virtuoso Artis Wodehouse, whose inspiring
advocacy extends to every possible keyboard instrument.
After three introductory chords, the first movement is a perky, perpetual motion toccata that roves
through several tonalities. The second movement, Dirge, is slow and expressive, exploring a series of
interlocking cross-rhythms. The final movement is a very simple and ebullient gigue in G major.
