Programme Notes:

Sol Novo means new sun, new day. It is taken from a verse of Dante's Divina Commedia that I often repeat to myself. The magnificence of the morning light starting a new day, a new journey for all of us. Dawn is my favourite time to compose. I feel encouraged by the sense of calm and confidence that the morning light brings. I like to watch the change from night to day, the moment when all comes to life anew. I wanted this album to be filled with light, the many kinds of different light that we have in my region, reflecting on the sea, on the mountains, the rich fields, and the old villages. It's a natural light, without human intrusion. It embraces us, and it shows us the future.
