Description "Petite Sonate Pathétique - inspiriert durch Klaviersonate Nr. 8 c-Moll, op. 13, 1. Satz"

With a love of artistic freedom, Felix Reuter has taken up central motifs from Beethoven's Pathétique Sonata, sensitively "distilled" the work and allowed his own stylistic colors to flow into it in a completely organic way. They make the artistic essence shine anew as a personal reading - more peaceful and less agitated than the original work, yet with great expressive power. The first movement - an 8-minute epic in the original - is greatly reduced in Felix Reuter's version. Although he retains the unmistakable, thunderous opening of the "Grave" and the harmonies, he dissolves them according to his own sense of style. The composer has also added his own, surging middle section in a modern style, in rhythmic reference to the beginning of the work. This edition contains the piano notes for the first movement. Movements 2 and 3 are also available as sheet music editions.
