Product Description
Music from Mayflower Hill (2001) for solo trumpet was composed for and is dedicated to
trumpeter Colby Cooman.
The title refers to Mayflower Hill in Waterville, Maine, on which the campus of Colby
College sits. The principal material is derived from "COLBY" in note-codes.
The work is based on a series of alternating sudden gestures of dynamic contrast with lyrical
lines. The harmonic material consists of a shifting pattern of the modes.
