Product Description
The track "Moon" was released in 2020 on the piano album "Minimal Jazz" by ND-Verlag (NDV 907011). The composition has a calm and relaxed aura and transports the listener into a different, virtual world of sound if they allow themselves to do so. It creates a feeling of security and stillness, comparable to the idea of floating in an empty room.
This mood is achieved by the surprisingly simple piano accompaniment, consisting of two chords (D7 and D6) that are repeated over and over again. The solo voice then slowly rises from the depths and wanders through the musical space until the bass dissolves the movement by jumping to the low G and gives the constant chords a new meaning (Gsus4 and Gadd2). Finally, the journey ends with a pure G major chord, a musical allusion to the radiant full moon in the night sky.
The piece is arranged as a duo for a solo instrument and piano, but can also be optionally expanded into a band. The individual parts for electric bass/contrabass and drum set are included. There are many different versions for woodwinds, brass and strings on the ND website.
The arrangement is suitable for concerts, preludes and meditative events and for solemn and contemplative occasions of all kinds in church, school and family.
