Concerto in F - Sheet Music for Two Horns and Organ Antonio Vivaldi

On organ registration:
Due to the significant differences and size variations of organs, the registration is left to the organist. A clear, clean sound is recommended, pastoral and elegant.

On the horn parts:

The articulations follow the editor's version. The original in C-alto had no articulations, as was customary at that time. In tutti passages, the horns should blend with the organ; in solo passages, they should stand out from the organ. The playing should be light and joyful.

In the first movement, the interplay of the horns should be flowing with a sense of continuity. The repeated call motifs should sound as if played by a single musician. The second horn should not recede into the background but should participate on equal terms. The trills in the first horn in measures 36 and 37 are easiest to perform on the natural horn with open G intonation and on the A with the 3rd valve combination.

The second movement should be simple and elegant. The third movement is brilliant and noble.

The concerto is a splendid example of the brilliant Clarino style of the Baroque and is fun to play.
