Chamber Of Horrors - Sheet Music for Elena Kats-Chernin

'For me this was a rare process of events, having a title for a piece almost a year before it was actually written. It originated during a conversation with the harpist Marshall McGuire (for whom it was written) over coffee. The piece became a set of 13 chords, split into groups of seven and six. The piece is dominated by the playful ’creepiness’ of the harmonies, which I send through various stages of development, in order to explore the rich color of the sound of the harp.'

 

 

This piece is listed in the repertoire of the 19th International Harp Contest in Israel.
