Product Description
One of Gabrieli's most frequently performed works, arranged by Barton Cummings. Euphonium parts in bass clef only. Difficulty level 4 (Intermediate) brings very demanding rhythms to the piece. Syncopations are used freely, as are the more extreme ranges for all instruments.
This music has become so well-known that little needs to be said about it or its performance. It is important to remember that the instruments used by musicians today do not correspond to their counterparts in Gabrieli's time and that what we might have been able to do technically was not possible then. Likewise, it should be noted that established performance practices have prevailed in the performance of this music. In this arrangement, therefore, great emphasis is placed on articulation, dynamics, and phrasing imposed on the performers. Good intonation and musical playing are sufficient for the performance of this music.
