This is an orchestral sketch for piano, of Morfydd Owen's Branwen as recorded by Brian Ellsbury on Morfydd Owen: Portrait of a Lost Icon. The original title is given as Death Music: The Passing of Branwen, but a strings-only orchestral version has been given the title of Threnody. This piece by the Welsh composer Morfydd Owen is just one of several new editions of Morfydd Owen pieces to be published with TΕ· Cerdd which are based directly on the evidence of manuscripts held at Cardiff University's Special Collections and Archives.
