Air Florentin avec variation, opus 65 - Sheet Music for cornet + piano Paul-Agricole Génin

Paul-Agricole Genin was born on 14th February 1832, in Avignon, died 22nd December 1903, in Paris, France.
His is often confused with Pierre Genin, who was a flutist who performed mainly in England during the early
20th century.

Genin was the Principal flute of the Theatre Italien in Paris, and of the Colonne Orchestra. In addition to
writing many works for the flute (he wrote over 60 works for this instrument, he was also one of the first
composers to write for the saxophone. He was an "Officier de l´Academie des Beaux-Arts".

This work was first published by Richault with two other pieces ("Melodie avec Variation", Opus 63 and
"Cantilene", Opus 64) as "Three character pieces", although the three works were sold seperately. The
piano part for all three versions (for alto saxophone, Bb Clarinet or Bb cornet) remains the same.

Paul-Agricole Genin est ne le 14 fevrier 1832 a Avignon et est mort le 22 decembre, 1903 a Paris. Il est
parfois confus avec Pierre Genin, un autre flutiste qui a suivi sa carriere en Grande Bretagne au 20me siecle.

Genin etait le flute solo du theâ,tre des Italiens a Paris et de l´orchestre Colonne En plus de ses oeuvre pour
la flute (il a ecrit plus que 60 oeuvres pour cette instrument), il est egalement parmi les premiers compositeur
d´avoir ecrit pour le saxophone.

Il etait "officier de l´Academie des Beaux-Arts".

Cette oeuvre est editee pour la premiere fois par Richalut avec deux autres pieces ("Melodie avec Variation",
Opus 63 et "Cantilene", Opus 64) sous le titre global "Trois Morceaux de Genre", mais les trois pieces ont
ete vendues separement, . La partie de piano reste inchange pour les trois versions offertes (saxophone alto,
clarinette en sib, cornet a pistons en sib).
