Every Which Shining Way (2009) for trumpet and piano was commissioned by and is dedicated to
Brian Shook.
The brief work consist of two lyrical "songs without words."
Performance Note:
Dynamic markings are kept to a minimum and convey the basic shapes of
each lines and section, they are meant as a basic guide, not a comprehensive marking of every nuance.
Both trumpet and piano should seek to convey the expressive, lyric, vocal colors of the music.
